Auditions Festival Sunday March 15, 2020

Entry fees: $18 per entry for students of OhioMTA members and CCM Prep Faculty
$27 per entry for students of non-members

The Auditions Festival is an adjudicated event for piano and voice students. Students perform in front of a judge in a closed audition (except for advanced level piano students who perform in an open recital format with 2 judges).
Students receive a comment sheet, a score, and a corresponding ribbon or medal. In addition, the top scores in each category will receive an Honors Trophy (see photos of awards below).
Piano is divided into 9 difficulty levels. Voice is divided according to age and genre.
Students may enter more than one piece/song and may enter in multiple divisions (piano and vocal). However, they are only eligible for 1 trophy per division.

Piano Division

Open to piano students from kindergarten through twelfth grade who have studied a minimum of 6 months with their current teacher.

Pieces MUST be played from memory.

Students may enter more than one piece and may enter in multiple levels; however, they will only be eligible for one trophy.

A published copy of the music, with measures numbered, is to be provided for the judge at the time of performance.

All music must be in accordance with the federal copyright laws.

All participating teachers must volunteer 3 hours (or send someone in their place). Please indicate volunteer preferences on application.

Volunteers will be given FREE PARKING!

9 levels: Primer, Beginner, Elementary, Early Intermediate, Intermediate, Late Intermediate, Early Advanced, Advanced I, Advanced II (refer to repertoire guidelines and repertoire list for more information).

Primer through Early Advanced: Performers are scheduled for a private audition with a judge.

Advanced I and Advanced II: Performers are scheduled in open recitals with 2 judges.

Performers will receive comments, a score/rating, and the appropriate ribbon or medal.

Those receiving the highest scores in their level will receive a special Honors Trophy.
Vocal Division

Open to vocal students ages 10-18 as of 3/15/2020.

Participants must have studied a minimum of six months with their present teacher.
-
One memorized vocal solo from the standard literature including folk songs, art songs, arias, popular music, and musical theater.

Students may enter more than one song; However, students are only eligible for one trophy.

A published copy of the music, with measures numbered, is to be provided for the judge at the time of performance.

Participants MUST provide their own accompanist, one will not be provided. Pre-recorded tracks are prohibited.

Warm-up rooms are not guaranteed but will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
