Heartfelt Appreciation to Clinton Pratt for 20 years of Service!

Clinton Pratt, NCTM and owner of Piano Sensei studio, will complete his term as Immediate Past President of OhioMTA Southwest this June and then – DO NOTHING! (As a member of the board, that is.)

Clinton joined MTNA and our district in 2004. That first year he attended the Fall Conference, entered students in Masquerade Musicale, and went to the OhioMTA State Conference. In 2006, he joined the board at VP for Publicity, then served six terms as VP for Membership, before stepping up to President-Elect in 2020. As President and then Past-President of the Southwest District from 2022-2026, Clinton was instrumental in creating our Officer Handbook, streamlining the flow of information for new officers joining the board.

Besides his duties on the Board, Clinton also Chaired the Auditions Festival from 2015-2022 and was a regular presenter at state, local, and national conferences. He served the OhioMTA State Board as Newsletter Editor from 2006-2009, and then during 2010-2012 was Young Artist and Chamber Music MTNA Competitions Coordinator, Collegiate Chapter Chair 2010-2014, and State Conference Planning Committee for 2013 and 2021.

We are proud that Clinton was chosen twice as Certified Teacher of the Year for the Southwest District (in 2026 and 2023) and in 2023 he won State Teacher of the Year for Ohio!

Clinton has attended every state conference since 2005 and has also been to 13 MTNA National Conferences. In Clinton’s words, “I’m grateful to OhioMTA Southwest for providing the means and opportunities to meet such great teachers, make friends, be inspired by amazing pedagogues, and continue developing our craft!”
